Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)

The newly designed Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) offers immersive, studio-based learning in your chosen specialisation.

BFA specialisations include:

Each specialisation is characterised by regular exhibitions, performances or production work in first and second year with a capstone experience in the final year that takes the form of a public exhibition or performance, providing a focus and resolution to three years of study. In addition to intensive skills training, you will also undertake Critical Studies subjects that will introduce you to the diversity of contemporary arts practices.

The BFA also offers you the opportunity to choose subjects from other disciplines. This feature is elective, so the choice is yours. You may take electives from other areas within the VCA, or you may want to do a subject from a range of study areas across the University.

Honours

There is also the opportunity to complete an Honours program that includes a studio-based, year-long project as well as a related research paper to prepare you to undertake a higher degree by research.
