Teenflix - Filmmaking Winter School

Are you passionate about filmmaking? Looking to express your individual creative voice? Join VCA's Teenflix Winter School, our filmmaking course for teenagers.

Located in the arts precinct at Southbank (Melbourne), this practical three-day filmmaking short course for teenagers aged 13 to 18, provides participants with an intensive introduction to the film and television industry.

The filmmaking short course will include:

  • Introduction to screenwriting
  • Visual storytelling through camera placement, framing and lighting
  • What makes a great short film?
  • The Cinematographer & Camera Department

Best of all, students will complete one mockumentary style exercise and two short films, all in just 3 days!  

Led by experienced film practitioners, participants will undertake a series of intensive, hands-on filmmaking workshops, have the opportunity for shooting time in our state of the art film studios and try a variety of film roles including Writer, Director, 2nd Assistant Director, Actor, Camera Operator, Gaffer, Boomswinger and Grip.
