Located in state of the art facilities at Southbank, this practical two-day Cinematography intensive is designed for adults wishing to get a taste of what it takes to work in key areas of this dynamic industry, Cinematography.
The teaching team is led by experienced industry professional, Andrew Blogg , who has been involved in film and video production since completing the Foundations Program at the Victorian College of the Arts, School of Film and Television, in 2002. Andrew has worked on numerous film and television productions, educational programs, music videos and promotional videos. Andrew’s first feature documentary entitled Camp 32, has screened at the Cambodian International Film festival (2015) in Phnom Penh and at the Cambodia Town Film Festival (2016) in Long Beach California.
Day One: Introduction to Cinematography, The DP & Story
The role of the Cinematographer is to control and shape light and image in a way that creates a vision of the filmmaker’s world. You will learn tips and tricks for working with natural light, capturing the story and key elements required to be a great Cinematographer!
Day Two: Introduction to Cinematography, Vision of Cinema
Learn the origins of cinematography and how to replicate lighting and camera techniques from today’s feature films. Led by industry experts, you can experience a variety of roles including DOP, Camera Operator, Focus Puller, Clapper Loader, Data Wrangling, Gaffer, Grip and movement.
No prior knowledge of Film & TV industry practices is required. If you are looking to begin your Film and TV journey or take your established skills and connections to the next level, then VCA Intensive is for you!
