Located in state-of-the-art facilities at Southbank (Melbourne), this practical three-day filmmaking short course is designed for adults wishing to get a taste of what it takes to work in the film and television industry, including:
- Production Design
The filmmaking short course will take place over three days.
Day One: Continuity & Production Design
Experience a comprehensive overview of the roles and responsibilities of the Continuity Person and Production designer. This day will enlighten participants to the reasons why Continuity and Production Design are integral aspects of Cinematography.
Day Two: Introduction to Cinematography, The DP & Story
The role of the Cinematographer is to control and shape light and image in a way that creates a vision of the filmmakers world. You will learn tips and tricks for working with natural light, capturing the story and key elements required to be a great Cinematographer!
Day Three: Introduction to Cinematography, Vision of Cinema
Learn the origins of cinematography and how to replicate lighting and camera techniques from today’s feature films. Led by industry experts, you can experience a variety of roles including DOP, Camera Operator, Focus Puller, Clapper Loader, Data Wrangling, Gaffer, Grip and movement.
No prior knowledge of Film & TV industry practices is required. If you are looking to begin your Film and TV journey or take your established skills and connections to the next level, then VCA Filmmaking Adult Winter Intensive - Cinematography is for you!
