Are you ready to develop your acting ability, keen to learn from experts and want to acquire new skills?  Are you aiming to audition for one of the major drama schools at the end of the year?
This one semester version of our popular year-long Acting Studio is perfect for you. Acting Studio Intensive is a rigorous and rewarding part-time course for aspiring actors, led by a teaching team of dedicated artists, practicing educators and industry professionals

Sessions on acting fundamentals, devised performance, text analysis and interpretation and monologue practice will fill your actor's toolkit with essential knowledge through practical, interactive exercises.

Unit 1: In the Beginning
Explore the essential elements of acting including: space, ensemble, impulse, imagination, text and audience. Develop your creativity, physical presence, vocal skills and spatial awareness, and experience the unique strength of your individual expression.

Unit 2: Exploring Devised Performance
Explore techniques that open up a wide range of devising and performance possibilities. You will experiment with various stimuli, critique the choices you make, and apply imaginative compositional, physical and vocal craft skills to your work. You will be given the opportunity to perform your solo devised piece in front of others and receive feedback from your tutor.

Unit 3: Exploring Text & Monologues (Shakespeare)
Work on a monologue that can be developed and used as an acting audition piece. Begin to interpret text as an actor, taking it from the page into performance. Learn how to recognise and move past 'blocks' in individual performance, how to free yourself from habits and be inspired to continue taking risks as an actor.

Push your artistic performance practice out of its comfort zone and develop real acting tools to perform at your best.
