Dr Phillip Law Travel Scholarship (Dance)
The Dr Phillip Law Travelling Scholarship (Dance) is provided to award a student enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate studies in the discipline of Dance at the Faculty to enable them to travel overseas to enhance their knowledge and competency in dance. The scholarship is to be awarded to the student who shows the best potential to gain wider experience in dance from travel as demonstrated by the travel/study plans outlined in their application. Shortlisted applicants are required to attend a 20 minute interview.
The total value of the scholarships offered in 2016 will be approximately $4,900. This may be either a single award or split between 2 or more recipients.
Open and closing dates
Applications are closed. The scholarship will next open for applications in July 2018.
Criteria and eligibility
This scholarship is open for award annually to all dance students enrolled in the Faculty. Applications for retrospective travel will not be considered.
Applications will be assessed by the criteria above, in addition to student's previous results attained. Shortlisted applicants are required to attend a 20 minute interview. The scholarship will be awarded to the student who shows the best potential to gain wider experience in dance from travel as demonstrated by the travel/study plans outlined in their application. The Dean, on the recommendation of the relevant Head of School, will approve the recipients.
To accept this scholarship, successful recipients are required to write a letter of thanks and provide an artistic biography for the donors or trustees. On occasion recipients will be contacted to provide a progress report.
