Agnes Robertson Scholarship for Painting

Introduction

The Agnes Robertson Painting Scholarship is open for award triennially to first year students of Painting who are citizens or permanent residents of Australia or who have resided in Australia for the previous four years.

Value

The value of the Agnes Robertson Painting Scholarship will be approximately $5,400 per annum, with the majority of funds to alleviate tuition fees. This scholarship is offered for three years, pending successful academic progress through the course.

Open and closing dates

Awarded in 2015.  Next to be awarded in 2018, opening start of semester 1.

Criteria and eligibility

This scholarship is open triennially for award to a first year student of Art, specialising in painting, who is an Australian citizen, or has lived in Australia for four years or more.

Selection process

Applications will be assessed by the selection committee on the basis of artistic merit, as demonstrated by a portfolio of most recent work or performance; academic merit, as demonstrated by previous academic achievement; career aspirations; and likely success in completing the proposed course of study. The Dean, on the recommendation of the selection committee, will approve the recipients who may be offered the scholarship with their letter of offer from the faculty, or, once the student has accepted their place and successfully enrolled in the course, by census date (around March 31).

Additional requirements

To accept this scholarship, successful recipients are required to write a letter of thanks and provide an artistic biography for the donors or trustees. On occasion recipients will be contacted to provide a progress report.

Where financial need is a consideration, you'll also be asked to provide an estimate of your budget for the year ahead.
