The Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) (Screenwriting) is for students that have achieved high results in an undergraduate degree in screenwriting, either at the Victorian College of the Arts or another institution, and who wish to extend their practice and develop their research ability.
The one-year program introduces you to creative and theoretical research skills and methodologies. It provides an opportunity, under the guidance of a supervisor, to engage in independent research in a chosen field of artistic practice. During the course you will complete a substantative piece of creative writing. This could include a feature screenplay to first draft stage or a television pilot and series outline, for example. You also produce a minor research thesis.
The program offers a direct pathway to a higher research degree as well as equipping you to work as a professional practicing artist in your chosen field.
