The Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) (Animation) program is for students that have achieved high results in an undergraduate degree in animation, either at the Victorian College of the Arts or another institution, and who wish to extend their practice and develop their research ability.
The one-year program introduces you to creative and theoretical research skills and methodologies. It provides an opportunity for you, under the guidance of a supervisor, to engage in independent research in a chosen field of artistic practice. During the course you write, direct and edit a substantative and innovative animated short film. You also produce a minor research thesis.
The program offers a direct pathway to a higher research degree as well as equipping you to work as a professional practicing artist in your chosen field.
