Graduate studies in Performing Arts

Students in the Graduate Studies program in the School of Performing Arts are part of a thriving community where choreographers, dancers, theatre makers, animateurs, directors, actors, stage managers, production artists, writers and technicians are trained in unique programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level. These programs honour both contemporary and traditional developments in the performing arts.

The professional graduate coursework programs enable participants to work independently and collaboratively with their peers in Theatre, Dance and Production. The focus is on original work in a variety of community, social and professional contexts with a strong commitment to a professional standard in their chosen stream (animateuring, direction, choreography, design and writing, voice studies).

The research programs provide the opportunity for students to develop and share their work in an environment which privileges and is ideally equipped for practice-based research, and where academic enquiry and experimentation in performance extend and push the boundaries of current contemporary arts practice.
